This week being our mid-term break, I decided to pay some long-overdue attention to the www.pedaplus.com website, and provide a few minor updates.
I received an email recently from the daughter of Paul Sheftel concerning the distance learning software her father and George Litterst have been developing. I should be receiving some demo software shortly, but until then, I can point you to their respective websites:
www.timewarptech.com Products include Home Concert Xtreme, Internet Midi, and Classroom Maestro.

These links have been added to the weblinks section. Their software represents a cutting-edge approach to music teaching. I am looking forward to seeing how some of it works in a practical way. As already mentioned in previous articles, distance learning is a big interest of mine, and I would love to see the day when teaching crosses geographical boundaries in a transparent, user-friendly way. I think we're getting there. My experiences with Skype have been instructive - both as to what the possibilities are, and what some of the current limitations are. |
